Home of the Mother

The weekend of Pentecost, May 22-23, the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother here in Rome, Italy were led by the Holy Spirit to go to the small town on a mountain top named Monte Vidon Combatte, located on the outskirts of Ascoli Piceno, about 3 hours north of Rome. There are a few families there who are members of the Home or who often attend activities of the Home.

We arrived Saturday evening and shortly after our arrival, two Sisters and Angelo Recchi went to the local parish to distribute the HM Magazine to parishioners. Later, we returned to the home of Angelo and his wife, Lydia, and Giuliano and Rosella, another couple who often attend the Home activities, stopped by for a brief visit before dinner. We chatted for a bit and then we have a Vigil of Prayer for Pentecost, in which we earnestly called upon the intercession of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

At the beginning of 2010, the Home of the Mother Magazine that began being published a little over 25 years ago by a group of enthusiastic young people with very little resources, had to launch an urgent appeal to all its subscribers.

We made a strong appeal not only for subscribers to pay for their own subscription, but also to try and find new subscribers, as this is what keeps us afloat along with our strong conviction that this is a great instrument of apostolate in and of itself.
