Towards the end of that year (2003), I came across Pope John Paul II’s speech on his last visit to Spain at the Cuatro Vientos Air Base, in Madrid, during the canonization of five new saints, in May of that year. I read it and was impressed by the Pope’s words: “If you hear the voice of God telling you: ‘Follow me’, do not silence his call!”...These words pierced my soul, and I remembered with what strength Pope John Paul had spoken those words to those of us youth present at the Prayer Vigil and those who were tuned into it from other places.
