This past Saturday we had a get-together for younger and older girls at Our Lady of the Eagle Shrine in Seville, Spain. About 40 came all together. Our Mother Mary, as usual, gave us a beautiful day, with the sun shining, making it easier for us to hold the actividades we had planned for the girls.
We started off the day singing songs with hand motions and with a time for prayer in the Shrine, asking Our Lady to help us during the day.
Next, the girls got down to work with arts and crafts – their favorite. This time, we made little animals out of seashells and felt. The smaller girls made a couple of turtles and the older ones made really funny armadillos and a few mama and baby koala bears.
They still hadn´t finished our works of art, but it was time to eat. So we went outside into the sun, in the little square we have in front of our house. It was nice to be outside and while the last ones finished up, we started to play. Afterwards, the younger and older girls split up in order to have a reunion about St. Agnes. We talked about purity and giving testimony of our faith.
Then we started a huge game, made up of fun challenges. Yet by popular demand – from the young and older girls – they went back to finish the arts and crafts they had started earlier. As the get-together came to a close, we gave out bandanas as usual to the girls who had come to four get-togethers in a row and to new premonitors. We gave thanks to Our Lady for the beautiful day she had given us and for all the fun we had had.
