Family Encounter at the Monastery of La Trinidad, Valencia (Spain). February 1st-3rd, 2019.

On February 1st-3rd, 2019, we had a family encounter with the Laity of the Home of the Mother in the Monastery of La Trinidad, Valencia.

We began on February 1st in the afternoon with Mass, presided by Father Rafael, founder of the Home of the Mother. Then we ate dinner and afterward, we gathered together in the refectory of the convent to have a meeting complete with songs to Our Blessed Mother. Afterward, we prayed Compline (Night Prayer) and went off to bed.

On Saturday, the 2nd, after having breakfast, we began the day with adoration before the Blessed Sacrament accompanied by Lauds (Morning Prayer). For Points of Meditation, Father Rafael spoke to us using the day’s Gospel reading. In doing so, Father taught us the Lectio Divina method of prayer.

After Adoration, we went to the refectory to have a meeting that Father Rafael also led, in which we talked about the family and educating children. It was a very fruitful meeting and since we all have experience of family life, everyone participated. To end, we came to the conclusion that the most important thing for family life is to see it as a vocation, which helps us to truly live it as God wants.

After lunch we went out to the cloister to pray the rosary with songs, followed by the Mass. Since it was the Day of Consecrated Life, we were able to be present when the Servant Brothers and Sisters renewed their vows during Mass. Later on, after dinner, we had another meeting interspersed with songs to the Virgin Mary.

On Sunday morning, after breakfast, we had Adoration and then Mass. After lunch, we said our goodbyes and everyone went home.

We give thanks to the Lord for this time in which He has allowed us to live together as the true family that is the Home of the Mother.
