The community of Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother of Lumezzane, Brescia, organized a get-together for girls ages 7 to 11 on Sunday, February 3rd. After attending the 9:30 am Sunday Mass in our parish of San Apolonio, we went to the Sisters’ house to start with the activities and games that the High School H.M.Y. girls had prepared for the younger girls.
They made a visit to the Sister’s chapel to greet the Blessed Sacrament and offer the day to the Lord and Our Mother, then, before the meal, they began to do one of their favorite activities, the craft! This time they put their patience to the test— and their dexterity— with an origami craft.
We had lunch, games and a brief meeting, using an article written by Sr. Clare Crockett in our magazine "H.M. Zoom+ "on sincerity.
After all the other activities, they washed their hands and began to shape the dough to make delicious colorful cookies.
The older H.M.Y. girls lead the games, songs, and free time for the younger ones throughout the day. The highlight of the afternoon was a Q/A game where the girls divided into groups and had to adventure all over the house to look for clues. Finally, with all the clues, they found a mysterious character who was hidden around the house: St. John Bosco.
We finished the day with a snack, so they could savor the results of their tasty cookies.
