Pilgrimage to Zaragoza

perezaragoza larga

From March 1-3, a group of young people, with Br. Pablo and Fr. Dominic, went on a pilgrimage to Zaragoza.

We left Friday afternoon from Villalbilla, Alcalá de Henares, and got there around 8:00 pm. Brother Pablo’s parents welcomed us very kindly. When we arrived we went to Mass, then we ate dinner at their house and went to bed.

The next day, Saturday, we went to an indoor soccer field with Br. Pablo’s brothers. We had a great time playing soccer with them. In the afternoon we went to the most beautiful place, in my opinion, in the whole city: El Pilar. Br. Pablo told the story of Our Lady of the Pillar, and we climbed one of the towers, which was almost 100 meters high! One of the best moments on the pilgrimage was praying the rosary in front of Our Lady’s Pillar and being able to venerate it. Afterward, we had Mass in the crypt of St. Engratia, which is a special place because many martyrs from the Roman persecutions are buried there. After Mass, we went to Br. Pablo’s house where we ate dinner, played for a little while, and then went, again, to bed.

Lastly, on Sunday we went to Mass in the morning and then went to another field to play soccer. We had lunch at Burger King and then we had to go.

It was a really great experience. The pilgrimage was a lot of fun and it helped to recharge my spiritual batteries. I’m grateful to Br. Pablo’s family for hosting us, and I hope we can do it again very soon!
