What a Good Father! And we were able to truly appreciate what a good Father God is this year in the HMY summer camp. The first reason is the incredible place that He gave us to hold the camp this year because aside from being a truly beautiful village, it was located alongside a big lake, Corlo Lake. There, not only was it the perfect temperature for swimming but also, only two minutes walking from the camp, we found a bridge that we could use to jump in to the lake safely. So, each day after working up a sweat playing soccer, capture the flag, dodgeball, etc, we cooled off in that refreshing place that God gave us.
Another activity consisted of trying to make a small car run by motor... which ended up being a fan to relieve us from the heat.
However, the peak of the camp began with another craft, where each one had to drink a can of Coca-Cola, then cut it at the bottom, spray paint it, and write his name and the name of Jesus by punching holes in it. Then the boys put a candle inside it, making it into a lamp that was later used on the altar that we built halfway up the mountain, with the lake in the background. From there, our names lit up with the love of Jesus accompanied the Eucharistic Jesus in a beautiful vigil that deeply touched our souls. As one of the campers said, "The best part of camp was when everyone sang together and the adoration." With that, for the great cooks and all the moments of overcoming, including clean the whole camp (bathrooms included), we say, Thank you, Blessed Mother!
