“I don’t know why but ever since I was little I’ve had this desire to be famous.” -Sister Clare Crockett. Once again we witness the mercy of our Lord in His great plan as Sister Clare, the “famous nun,” plays on the screen again. On Thursday, October 24th, the candidates and lay members of the Home of the Mother who live in the Resi in Jacksonville (Florida) traveled to Franciscan University (Ohio) to help put on the film.
Upon arriving the girls were thrilled to see many posters all around the college campus announcing the event. They laughed when they saw a poster in the hands of a statue of St. Francis of Assisi, posed in a way that made it look as if he were advertising the movie himself. Thanks be to the providence of God and the help of those at Franciscan, mostly everything was set up beforehand with little left to do. The Franciscan T.O.R. Friar helping them led a prayer of petition for all those attending. Then it was time for the show to start!
The rows of chairs filled up quickly with many college students and a few different religious orders. Due to their surprise, they had to open up the overflow space upstairs for the rest who came; more or less, around two hundred people attended. During the movie, the room was filled with roars of laughter and many touched hearts.
When the movie ended there was a panel to answer a few questions about Sister Clare. People came up afterward to share the many ways Sister Clare has inspired them to live out their day to day Catholic lives with the motto of “All or Nothing”.
We give praise and thanksgiving to God for all the fruits He gives us through the simple fiat of Sister Clare.
