Preparing for Christmas in Lumezzane

DSCN1916Here we Sisters are again to give you an update on our activities. We are now very busy preparing things for Christmas.

We are giving religious instruction in kindergarten for children 4 and 5 years old. We enjoy going to this particular school because the principal and teachers are a delight. We give the class and then the teachers during the entire week remind them of all that we said and the children finish the homework we've given them. We are now preparing a small Christmas festival with the "Moo, Moo, Moo" song, which we translated into Italian. Now in Advent the director has asked us to have meetings once a week with the mothers of the children.

We also visit the sick to bring them Communion. In the parish there are ten extraordinary  Eucharistic ministers who bring Communion to the sick every month. They are divided by neighborhoods and each one brings Communion to the sick in that area. We visited everyone and bring them Communion again during the samemonth. Some of the sick give an amazing testimony because they are people of deep faith who receive the Lord with a great love and devotion.

DSCN1942We also have activities with young girls, which are a great. A handful of girls come every week and the group is getting bigger and bigger. We play games, have time for prayer in the chapel, a meeting, songs and crafts. What the girls love is learning to sew! Their mothers have bought them a sewing kit with thread, needles, pins, etc., and they all are very happy. They also bring their notebook to take notes during the meeting. The notebook is like the ones they use for school, where they write on the cover: Italian, mathematics, or art ... This has written on it: "Suore" (Sisters).

Recently "la corrida" took place. It is a spectacle in which all parishioners make their own performance: a song, a dance, or a play. It can be serious or humourous. We thought of a great idea to do with our girls.  We prepared a real "corrida", a short play about a Spanish bullfight.

We are now preparing a living Nativity Scene with senior adults for the Feast of the Epiphany.

We wish you all a very Merry and Holy Christmas. May the Child Jesus be born and reign in every house of the Home of the Mother, especially in our hearts.
