A Holy-ween Party

Last weekend in the Jacksonville Resi, we held our annual “Holy-ween” party for high school/college-age girls.

We call it “Holy-ween” in order to bring back the tradition of celebrating the saints and their lives on the vigil of All Saints´ Day. The only catch to coming to our “Holy-ween” celebration was you had to dress up as a saint.

Throughout the evening, we were visited by a number of martyrs, mystics, married and religious saints and blesseds.

All of the guests participated in the festivities of “saint-rades” (Holy-ween version of charades), occasional dancing, songs, and a neighborhood-friendly bonfire.

Finally and most importantly, each saint presented their lives and why they chose their saint.  We hope that this time helped everyone to grow in their desire to imitate the saints and to BE SAINTS!
