On September 29, feast day of the Holy Archangels, the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother founded our 15th community. This new house is found in the town of Macael (Almería), in Spain.
A group of sisters, together with Father Rafael Alonso, left from Santander on Friday, September 28, on their way to Macael. They spent the night in Valencia, and the next day continued their trip. There were many adventures on the way, since the cold weather, bringing with it storms and flooding, arrived at the same time as the new community. Thanks to God, it did not trap them on the road, as they reached Valencia three hours before it began. But the following day they saw all the damage that it had caused and it took about three hours more than planned to arrive at their destination, where the parish priest, Don Oscar Trujillo, was waiting for them at the door of their new house.
At 8 pm, a Mass was celebrated in the town parish, Our Lady of the Rosary, to welcome the community. In the homily, Don Oscar pointed out how the arrival of the Sisters to the town was a clear sign of the love that our Mother in Heaven had for the people of Macael. At the end of the Mass, Father Rafael presented the four sisters that make up the new community: Sisters Rosi Muñoz, Nathaly Vera, Kelly Jo Foht and Maribel Vera. After the Mass, some of the youth danced Sevillanas and participated in a snack that the parishoners had prepared. All were very happy to welcome the sisters to their town.
We ask for prayers for the work of evangelization that the Servant Sisters have begun in Macael, that it may give fruit and that Our Lady may continue to bless this town of hers.
