This weekend we had a small get-together in Las Presillas, Spain with some of the youth from Santander. Our lady blessed us with a few hours of games, a talk, confession, and Mass.
We started with a prayer, and a HUGE game of Paper Football. The Brothers had prepared the table in the little house (La Casita) in Las Presillas as a big playing field. Afterwards, Brother Matthew Nobrega, Novice, gave a short talk about the importance of obedience to one’s parents, and giving all to God, tying all together using the anecdote of the King, the beggar, the grain of wheat, and the gold.
After the talk, a few of the kids were able to receive the sacrament of reconciliation before we began Mass. During the celebration, a young man from Santander, Jose Maria, was able to serve Father Felix as an altar boy.
After the Mass, some of the kids had to catch a train back home, but a few were able to stay a while longer. We watched “Quien es Maria?” (“Who is Mary”) to wrap things up, and prepare them for the upcoming feast day of the Immaculate Conception.
In all things we give thanks to God, who has blessed us with this time with the youth. Please pray for us and them so our works bear fruit! God Bless.
