Dos Hermanas is a city close by the community of Servant Sisters in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville, Spain). Since September, the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother have been collaborating with the Parish of Our Lady of the Olive Tree, that has about 40,000 parishoners.
The girls of the Home of the Mother of the Youth have been busy this past month here in Jacksonville, Florida. Besides getting together every Friday as they normally do, they also held a “Holy-ween” party and they hosted a group of high school girls from Melbourne, Florida for the weekend.
The Home of the Mother in the United States held a Silent Retreat for adults in Northern Florida this past weekend, from Friday, November 9th to Sunday, November 11th. Around 70 people, aged 25 and up, were able to attend the retreat held at Lake Swan Camp, about an hour outside of Jacksonville.
Saturday, November 10th was a very intense day in Guayaquil. We had a retreat with youth from two parishes: Our Lady of Loreto, where there is now a community of Servant Brothers of the Home of the Mother, and the parish of the Ceibos, where the former parish priest of Our Lady of Loreto was sent.
The Servant Sisters who work in the Parish of Saint Apollonius, Lumezzane (Italy), organized a retreat for girls who are 13-16 years old, from November 2-3. 13 girls showed up, excited and prepared to pray, play and try to overcome themselves all that they could to take advantage of these days – for themselves and as a help for the rest.
From November 1-4, 2012, 35 girls from Playa Prieta, Chone and Manta (Ecuador), and some sisters, have done a Marian Pilgrimage with the theme: "Mother, nothing without you". On November 5th, a group of 10 girls and sisters from Guayaquil joined up with us.
Sunday, October 21. Surely this will be a memorable date for the Parish of Loreto in Guayaquil (Ecuador). That day Father Reinhard, Servant Priest of the Home of the Mother, took possession of the Parish of Loreto. The act took place at 8 a.m. and was presided by the Vicar of the North Zone of Guayaquil, Father Alfonso Avilés.
23 years after the first pilgrimage of the Home to the Holy Land, in which the first three Servant Sisters made their vows in the house of Our Lady in Nazareth, the Home has returned to visit the Holy Land. From October 6-13, a group of Servant Brothers, Sisters and lay members, with Father Rafael at the head, have been at pilgrimage in the places that were blessed by the presence of the Lord and Our Lady.
