This time, instead of having the activity at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Eagle, the get-together was held in the Official site of the Calvalcade of the Magi of Alcalá. From here we would like to thank them for their helpfulness and their generosity. They did all that they could to help us feel at home.
We must admit that we were sad to leave the Shrine, but as always, Our Blessed Mother came with us, because in the new place, as soon as you enter, the first thing you see is a precious ceramic mosaic of Our Lady of the Aguila on the wall.
It is a big room, which made it easier to do a little bit of everything together. This time, we were going to do some cooking, so all the girls had to become expert chefs. After a a short time of prayer and games, we got to work. Each girl had to make her own chef hat, and then make some delicious Italian pizzas and sausages wrapped in crust. We had to finish this all quickly because it was going to be our lunch.
But it did not end there. We had a great meeting to learn how to live Lent well and to be a consolation for Jesus and Our Lady. We made some resolutions that we hope they are all fulfilling; among them, for those that can, is the resolution to make a good confession.
That afternoon, without even having taken off the aprons that each one had brought from home, we made chocolate chip cookies, which were so good that later on each one took some home in a cardboard box. These cookies are becoming famous here in Alcalá because the older girls bake them every now and then and sell them to fundraise for the pilgrimage to Fatima in May.
So, God willing, we will get together again in the Shrine of Our Lady of the Eagle, the Saturdays of March 9th and 16th, from 11-5 pm.
