Get-together for girls from Belmonte and Priego in Cuenca (Spain) to attend the musical: "Do Not Be Afraid!", October 19, 2013.
The weekend of October 19th-20th, the group of young people that have been performing the musical of John Paul II: "Do Not Be Afraid!" finished their representations, after three intense years of travelling through many of the diocese in Spain and even outside of Spain.
The Servant Sisters of Belmonte and Priego encouraged the girls to go to Cuenca on Saturday, October 19th for a get-together, and finish off the day by going to see the musical in the auditorium of Cuenca. Thanks to God we could obtain entrances for the girls who had signed up, and between Belmonte and Cuenca, we were 16 in all.
After beginning the day with Mass in the parish of the Virgin of Light, Patron of Cuenca, we situated ourselves with a scavenger hunt following the steps of John Paul II, travelling the path around the Jucar River that passes through the city and continues its climb until reaching the Shrine of Our Lady of the Anguish, where we put ourselves in the hands of Our Blessed Mother and asked her to cover us with her mantle. We did not realize how tired we were from all our activities untill we finished off the games and in the plaza of the Cathedral.
Even though the musical did not begin until 5 p.m., at 4:30 we were already in our seats inside the auditorium. The theater was full with youth, families, religious and priests. It was beautiful! Without doubt the soon-to-be Saint John Paul II was pouring out many graces! It was a very good experience to be able to see how these young and some not so young actors were putting the gifts that God has given them for the song, the music and the interpretation, to give glory to God and do good to the souls, transmitting through their representation the Word of God.
We left at 7:15 with the soul full and a big smile on the face. We were able to greet the actors, take pictures with "Pope John Paul II", some "cardinals"... We hope that all the experiences and words of Blessed John Paul II resound, not only in the auditorium but also in our hearts and that they bear fruits so that we do not have fear and open the doors to Christ, as He asked us.
