Charitable market put on by the Home of the Mother women members of Alcalá de Guadaíra, Seville (Spain), October 2013.
The women's group of the Home of the Mother of Alcalá de Guadaíra, Seville (Spain), continues its project of organizing markets in which they themselves put up for sale the pieces of work that they make with their own hands. In this way, with the funds that they obtain we help monthly with food and some products of cleanliness and basic higiene to 10 needy families.
The women meet at least two days every week to work on their different creations: a set of woolen caps with a skarf for kids, bread bags, purses, baby clothes, notebooks covered with cloth, and many different kinds of decorations.
The last market was providentially held on October 11th-13th. Since the summer we have not been able to do it and it seemed that until December we were not going to have any opportunity. But once more, we have witnessed how the Lord and Our Blessed Mother guide us and, when they want something, the things work out well. They put in our path the people and moved their hearts so that we could put our stand in the medieval marketplace of a neighborhood of Alcalá that is called Paul VI and that belongs to the parish of Saint Matthew, where the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother collaborate.
The women put on the market from Friday afternoon until late afternoon on Sunday. They were very happy because they sold almost everything. It was worth seeing how, while they attended the stand they continued knitting hats, because they already had several orders for more.
The truth is that the people showed themselves to be very generous once they knew it was to help others who are in need, and its also true that the things the women make are very well done and they have a good taste.
They collected 560 euros that would be used to to continue helping monthly these families.
We must give thanks to God for everything and also to so many people that help us, in this case, especially to the Fraternity of the Sovereign Power of the parish of Saint Matthew. God will reward all for this great work.
