Get-together in "Dos Hermanas", Seville (Spain), December 9th, 2013.
Last December 9th we had a get-together for girls in "Dos Hermanas", a town of Seville, in the parish of Our Lady of "la Oliva", very close to Alcalá de Guadaíra where the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother live. There where 12 champions who, after a long school break, decided to dedicate their last day to Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin, having healthy fun.
The adventure began at 11:00 a.m., at the manger in the parish, with prayer, in which one of the sisters helped them to realize the greatness of the birth of the Lord and how many good things it has meant for humanity. After a time in silence, each of them went up to a basket of proposals and picked one out to live it for the rest of Advent.
Right after, in one of the parish halls we had arts and crafts where we made very original bookmarks which put the imagination of the girls to the test. They turned out beautiful.
When our stomachs started to grumble, we went out to the patio to eat lunch, under a splendid sun, sharing the food with one another with the background music of the Christmas carols that the parish choir was practicing.
Then we had time for games, since they love to play, where there was a joyful environment among everyone. They couldn't not stop laughing, wanting to participate - they didn't even mind having to throw themselves on the ground to leave the circle or jump over the arms of those whose mission was to make it difficult for them to escape.
Time flew by, and at 3 o'clock we had a formation meeting. One of the sisters talked about Our Lady, since one of the girls asked. They were like sponges that soaked up everything we said about Our Blessed Mother. There is so much thirst for God in the hearts of the children and the youth!
We placed the last touches on the craft and the girls left with their hearts full of joy. They had a wonderful day.
You are invited to the next get-together. Don't let it slip by, it is an opportunity to grow humanly and spiritually. Come... and then you will see how right I am!
