A Taste of Heaven

tizi virgenGet-together for families in Santander, Cantabria (Spain), November 7-9, 2014.

On the weekend, from the 7th to the 9th of November, we had the get-together of families that the Home of the Mother holds regularly in a village of Santander. It just so happened that, the day before leaving, I received a call from one of the sisters to ask if we could bring a girl from Colombia, Laura, with us in our car. Since we had room, we took her, and we all went to the get-together. On our way there, after sharing a bit about ourselves and getting to know each other a little bit better, Laura asked me what these get-togethers were and why we were going. My explanation was: "We are going to Santander to have a taste of heaven." She looked at me confused and I said, "Yes, a taste of heaven, because then when we return home, we get back to our routines ... the weeks go by, and with the world around us, our feet start to touch the ground again"

On Saturday we had a relaxed breakfast and then prayed Laudes. Afterward,s Father Rafael gave us a brief mediation to help us reflect on the Word of God during adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. By mid-morning we had the privilege of being among the first to see a new production of HM Television called "Marking the North". We were so intrigued by what we were listening to in the programs that we decided to see all the seven programs in the series about Freemasonry, one after another. To say that they were interesting is an understatement. We really penetrated into this complicated topic, but in such a clear way that the entire group wanted to see the entire series.

klaria numi In the afternoon, we had a meeting with Father and with the rest of the brothers and sisters, in which the Servant Brothers showed us the first video of the new program they are making called "Catholic Stuff".

Then we had a very moving Mass, where we saw the entrance of Klarisa as a candidate to the Home of the Mother; she is the sister of Sister Kelly and Sister Kristina. It was an honor for us to share this moment with her.

On Sunday, after breakfast and prayer, we had a meeting with Father Rafael and Mother Ana, where we talked a little bit of everything, especially about the Home of the Mother.

After lunch, we returned home to Madrid. Prior to leaving, my children had to say good-bye to Our Lady. When we got to our house, pointing to a picture of Our Lady, my little girl said, "Look! My Mom!" And we arrived in Madrid with a Taste of heaven.
