Get together of girls in Brignano (Italy), February 7, 2015.
On February 7th we had a get together for girls in Brignano Gera d'Adda, Italy. Despite the cold and the snow that had fallen in the previous days, there was a group of 18 courageous girls who came promptly wearing their boots in order to play with the snow at the sisters’ patio.
We started the day singing songs and with gestures, games.... and then went to greet Jesus in the chapel and have a time of adoration. The sister who led the prayer talked to us about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. She reminded us that Jesus promised to be with us all the days until the end of the world and that we have to thank the Lord for staying with us in the Eucharist.
After this moment of prayer it was time for the workshop, one of the most anticipated moments by the girls. This time we made a very cute owl with paper and cardboard. It was a success. We ate our sandwiches and, as it could not be otherwise, we went outside to play with the snow. After the expected snowball fight, they dedicated themselves to filling the courtyard with snowmen of all types, shapes and sizes. When we could hardly feel our hands, it meant that it was time to go back inside into the Hall to have the meeting in which Sister told us that we have to ask for graces through Mary. “God does not want - says S. Bernardo – the graces to reach us without first passing through the hands of Mary.” And he encouraged us to make a daily visit to Our Lady.
After feeding the soul, we also had something to feed the body: a cooking workshop. We made two cakes out of cookies, yummy. So we now had prepared a sweet snack. And to end the evening, we played a game with a set of tests based on the story of the Miraculous Medal. With the various tests, the teams were trying to obtain “points“ that were forming the rays of grace that come out of the hands of Mary, Our Mother.
It was a day full of activities and spiritual and material food. We hope that we can repeat it soon!
