New Faces

chicaschone2Girl’s get together in Chone (Ecuador) March 10, 2015.

On Tuesday, March 10, the girls from Chone had a get together at the house of the Servants Sisters of the Home of the Mother.

Around 20 girls attended the gatherings, of which 15 were new. We started the day with the best: prayer. For many it was the first time that they entered a chapel, so sister explained what prayer consists of and what a Tabernacle is, etc. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a life of prayer for these girls who are taking the first steps on the right path in order to get closer to God.

Then we had a little bit of work. Some went to the kitchen to make 'donuts' (to sell them in order to pay for the summer camp), others started preparing the food and others came out to help a bit with cleaning and gardening. We prayed the Angelus and then we went to play volleyball. It was a lot of fun!

We went to the dining room because we were already hungry… After the meal, we took turns washing the dishes, others made popcorn, and others sang and acted out the songs. It was funny! Then we sat down to see the documentary, "Mary's Land." After seeing it, we went outside to have a meeting. Each one shared their impressions upon seeing the movie and what had helped them. Many were impressed by the number of conversions and how Our Lady acts in the souls and touches in such a strong way that changes their lives completely. For others, the film had led to an increase of love for the Blessed Virgin Mary; to see how she loves us, her children. After the meeting we played for a while and then it was time to say our good-byes.

Let us give thanks to our Mother, who is continuing to bring more young people into her Home. We pray that this first encounter won’t be the last one and that these youth continue coming to learn more about Jesus and his Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.
