Get together of Families in Barcenilla, Cantabria (Spain), March 20th thru the 22nd, 2015.
The weekend of March 20th thru the 22nd we had the opportunity to attend the gathering of families organized by the Home of the Mother in Barcenilla (Cantabria).
During these three days of gatherings, families from all parts of Spain shared moments of prayer, talks, and why not?, also fun with the servants brothers and the servant sisters of the Home of the Mother.
The families coming from Valencia arrived there on Wednesday, taking advantage of St. Joseph’s feast day holiday, and the rest arrived on Friday. Among the people there, were familiar faces and some new ones. The sisters welcomed us with the familiarity that characterizes them and made us feel at home from the very first moment.
The younger ones stayed with their parents in Barcenilla, and the older boys and girls went to Las Presillas and Zurita, respectively, where they were able to enjoy those days in the company of the Servants Brothers and the Servant Sisters.
On Saturday, after breakfast, we did the offering of our work, prayed lauds, had points of meditation with Father Rafael and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. During the talks we spoke about the web page created by the laity of the Home of the Mother for the evangelization of families: www.infofamilialibre.org.
After lunch we went on a short pilgrimage to Garabandal. Despite the rain, even the smaller ones climbed to the pine trees and, as we moved forward with the recitation of the Rosary at the feet of the Virgin Mary, our hearts started warming up. We went back to Barcenilla, had dinner and had time to talk about communication in the marriage, a topic that provided us with many and fun filled interventions.
On Sunday, after the Eucharist, the time came to bid farewell to those who had a long journey ahead. The rest stayed to eat and in the afternoon left with the joy of knowing that we would meet again within a week to celebrate Holy Week in Torrent (Valencia) in the company of the great family of the Home of the Mother.
