A Grace Filled Trip

EcuadorFather Rafael and Mother Ana's annual trip to ecuador, April 13 – 22, 2015.

On Monday, April 13th several groups of the Home of the Mother met at the airport: Servant Brothers, Servant Sisters, married couples, young men and women ... to receive Father Rafael, Mother Ana and Sister Karen, who were coming from Spain. On the way back from the airport, we all went to the Parish of Loreto, in Colinas of the Alborada. This is the parish that the Servant Brothers are in charge of in Guayaquil. There, more people from the Home of the Mother, who had not been able to go to the airport, were waiting for us. Everyone gave them a warm welcome, and Father Rafael said a few words.

On Wednesday the 15th, we left for Manabí. First we visited the home of the Servant Sisters in Chone and there we met with the groups of the Home of the Mother. Father Rafael celebrated Mass and baptized a baby. The next day we set out towards Playa Prieta, another village in Manabí where the sisters have a school. There, Father Rafael gave spiritual exercises to 42 girls, from the 16th until the 19th. As a fruit of these spiritual exercises, 5 girls took the step of responding to the call that God made in their hearts, and the next day, they made their consecration into the Servants of the Home of the Mother, in a grotto of Our Lady in Las Cajas, in the province of Azuay, where we went on a pilgrimage to give thanks to the Virgin Mary for all the graces received. That same day, two other girls also entered as aspirants to the Servant Sisters and two others as members of the HMY. Blessed be God who strengthens our hesitant spirit!

EcuadorOn Tuesday we all gathered in Guayaquil. Father Rafael was able to meet with the boys group of the Home of the Mother. He celebrated Mass in the parish of Loreto and then there was a holy hour. The church was full. It was very nice to see almost all the altar servers at the altar, next to the deacon and three priests. The music also helped to elevate the spirit, and for this we thank the sisters, who helped with the music and songs.

And then came the day of the farewell, to say good bye. On Wednesday we celebrated Mass at the house of the sisters in Guayaquil and, in the afternoon, we again accompanied Father, Mother and Sister Karen to the airport.

From here, we want to express our immense gratitude for your visit and hope you return again soon. Thank you very much!
