The Saints Land in Macael

santosFeast of All the Saints with the LHM in Macael, Almería (Spain), on November 2, 2015.

On November 2nd a celebration took place in Macael in honor of all Saints. It was an initiative of some of the women who often come to the meetings that we have every Tuesday. After talking about the convenience of giving the children a feast in honor of the Saints instead of Halloween, we realized that we had very little time to organize it. Then, in its place, some of the lay women proposed to the sisters to do the party for the ladies:

- But, there's no time... can we do it? -asked the sister.
- Well, of course, yes! - was our answer.

Since we could not do the party on the 1st because we all had prior personal commitments, the celebration was moved to the morning of the 2nd.

We agreed that it would be at the sister’s house at 10:30 a.m. Each lady had chosen a saint, and would come out to give us clues about their life, and between all of us, we had to guess who it was.

We had a heavenly time, with lots of laughter. We had the honor of counting with a variety of Saints of every language, race, and nation. There, we had saints like Tobías (from the Old Testament), to more contemporary Saints, as the Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Nor can we forget St. Cecilia, which although she was late, she offset the delay by brilliantly playing us a piece of music with the flute. The costumes were great, especially taking into account the short time they had to prepare them. The ladies who could not make their outfit, also found a Saint that they could explain, for us to guess. Then we all celebrated with chocolate, coffee and sweets.

Fue una fiesta improvisada, sencilla y muy alegre, en un ambiente de mucha confianza, que calentó nuestros corazones y nos ayudó con elIt was an improvised, simple and very joyful party in an atmosphere of trust that warmed our hearts and helped us with the example of so many saints.
