A Worship Pleasing to the Father

retirochone2LHM Retreat in Chone (Ecuador), on November 7, 2015.

On Saturday, November 7th, in Chone, we had the joy of having the visit of Fr. Félix Lopez, Superior General of the Servants Brothers of the Home of the Mother. Thanks to his passing through this community of Manabí, the laity of the Home of the Mother enjoyed a day with a silent retreat in the chapel of the sector of 'Los Naranjos', that belongs to the parish of St. María Bernarda.

Fr. Felix, exposed the Blessed Sacrament at the start of the retreat, he gave a couple of meditations with periods of silence. In the first meditation, we reflected on the hidden life of Jesus; in the second, on the Eucharist. As explained to us by Father, we have to achieve unity between the mass and our life: ‘that life may become the Mass and the Mass, life.' In this way our existence will be a nice worship to the Father.' The Lord did pour out his graces in the silence of the heart of every one of the attendees.

Then we prayed the Rosary with songs led by the sisters. We finished the retreat with the celebration of the Eucharist which, thanks to the previous meditation, was lived in a more participative and lively way. After the homily, Fr. Felix admitted Daniel Chimbo, a young man from Chone, as a candidate to the Servant Brothers of the Home of the Mother, in which his parents and his sister were also present there.

And, of course, we could not miss a lunch shared by all with delicious red rice, and a cold passion fruit juice, which eased the heat of the moment. While we waited for the arrival of the food, Daniel told us his vocation story. During lunch, the Fr. Felix answered different questions about the Home and about his vocation.

We said goodbye with sadness and with the hope that the next retreat will happen again soon.
