A Series of Spiritual Exercises for girls in Barcenilla, Santander (Spain), from December 4–8, 2015.
During the break of the Immaculate Conception we held Ignatius spiritual exercises in Barcenilla for young people led by father Rafael, which was attended by 22 girls. Although the exercises were of short-duration (they began Friday afternoon and ended Tuesday morning), they were very well taken advantage of, to reflect on sin and redemption, especially meditating on the passion of Christ. The talks on the rules of discernment also helped a lot, that made us understand how good and evil spirits operate in our lives.
For many girls it was the first time doing Spiritual Exercises; others, on the other hand, had already attended some before, but not with the Home. They all had a very good experience, aware of the excellent opportunity that it was to know more about the Lord and to make practical resolutions for their lives. In addition, it has been a good preparation for the upcoming Christmas holidays.
We finished the retreat celebrating the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, to whom we entrusted the fruits of the Spiritual exercises.
May the phrase that Father gave us as the slogan, be contemplated and made alive for all, “Mother, may those who see me, see You and your Son.”
