A Charity Performance in Cuenca (Spain) to raise funds for Playa Prieta (Ecuador), May 13, 2016.
“ “In this they will know that you are my disciples: If you have love for one another” (Jn. 13, 35).” (Jn. 13, 35).
The “tuna” (a musical group) of Catholic Action (to which Fr. José Javier Martin de Passos S.H.M. belonged for a time), gave a charity performance to raise funds for the reconstruction of the house and the school that the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother had in Playa Prieta, that collapsed during a very strong earthquake that struck the country last April.
The musical evening was held in the parish of St. Fernando in Cuenca at 8:00 p.m. on May 13, feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. Without a doubt, it was a Christian gesture, with much generosity, carried out by our brothers from Catholic Action.
The musical group sang magnificently. Halfway through the performance, Sister Ruth Maria, S.H.M., gave her missionary testimony since she had lived for several years in the Community of the Servant Sisters in Playaprieta. Then the tuna continued bringing joy to our hearts and after the performance received an intense and meritorious applause.
We sincerely thank this gesture of true brotherhood that they’ve had with us, having put their God given musical gifts to the service of the Church.
We ask the Lord and Our Mother to continue blessing them with growth in number and holiness.
