Prayer Vigil in Guayaquil (Ecuador) for the victims of the earthquake, June 4th, 2016.
When the Servant Sisters of the Home arrived in Guayaquil in 2011, the Lord provided the means and the people who would help them settle in the city and strengthen the community.
Among these providential people were two priests: Fr. Francisco Sojos, pastor of Ceibos and Fr. José Manuel Delgado, pastor of our Lady of Czestochowa. From the beginning we experienced a great spiritual affinity with them and we are grateful for their closeness and constant support. During all the days that followed the earthquake, suffered in the flesh by the sisters, both have been present at all times, very attentive to our needs. That is why we are very grateful and hope that the Lord rewards them abundantly for everything they do for Him.
Another opportunity that shows their love, has been the initiative 'Come to Me.' The two priests mentioned, along with other priests (including Fr. Jorge Aviles and Jorge Luis Bohorquez, known as 'the padrecitos'), have organized prayer vigils to pray for all the people affected and deceased in the earthquake. The first Vigil was in the parish of Ceibos, and was led by Fr. Francisco and the second in the parish of our Lady of Czestochowa, where Fr. José Manuel is the parish priest. The Servant Sisters were invited on both days to give testimony of what happened and to talk about Sister Clare and the girls who lost their lives in the earthquake.

For us they were, without a doubt, two moments of grace that exuded hope and the comfort of God. Before the exposed Blessed Sacrament, Sister Elena gave her testimony. Then there were alternating songs beautifully interpreted by the priests, that helped us pray and to be united to the Lord. In addition, they meditated on different passages of Scripture, all of them beautiful and of great spiritual wealth.
From here we would like to give thanks to all the people who have covered us with their prayers and with all kinds of contributions to help us rebuild the School in Playa Prieta, Ecuador.
