Visit to the Jefferson School in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to pick up their gifts on June 27th, 2016.
After the earthquake, many people are offering to help. A few days ago, the Bilingual Jefferson School in the city of Guayaquil called us and offered us their help. We then went to pick up some of the material that the students themselves had collected for us.
Two Sisters, together with Fr. Francisco, the pastor of the Ceibos Parish who put us into contact with this school, went on the 27th of June to pick up the material. When they arrived, the students welcomed them and asked the Sisters to say a few words before giving them the donations. There were so many things that the back of the pick-up truck was filled twice!
While we were there, they told us that the students usually dedicate three days of the school year to helping the needy. They surprised us even more by telling us that they had decided this year to dedicate the three days to helping our school in Playa Prieta. This was just the first of the three days.
In the pictures, you can see the St. Cecilia Campus of the school, where the Elementary and Middle students are. Some of the other pictures were taken at the other campus where the High school students are. On both campuses, material was given to us.
We would like to thank all of those who have made this possible. The students at Playa Prieta will be able to continue their studies thanks to these generous souls and all those who are helping us to start again.
