Don't Doubt in the Dark What You Have Seen in the Light

convivencasPlaya1Get-Together for Girls in Playa Prieta (Ecuador), February 18, 2017.

After spending one Sunday thinking about what we could do to help the girls draw closer to the Lord, we decided to prepare a fun Get-Together that would last just one day but would be an intense moment to prepare for the upcoming camps that will take place in March.

And so, we got to work. The following Saturday, 116 girls between the ages of 9 and 25 got together for a day totally consecrated to Our Blessed Mother, who worked out everything so that the Get-Together could bear extraordinary fruit.

We began the day with the celebration of the Holy Mass presided by one of the Servant Priests. Afterwards, we went to the school to continue with the different activities we had prepared: games, crafts, time for prayer, a brief meeting in small groups, etc.

For the meetings, we split up the teams according to age. In the meeting with the girls from 9-12 years old, we spoke about holiness, commenting on the example of children who had sanctified themselves doing ordinary things. With the older girls, we spoke about living an authentic Christian life and also the importance of truly living in the way that God expects of us. The phrase: “Don’t doubt in the dark what you have seen in the light,” was the phrase most commented on during the meeting.

It’s amazing to see how the Lord works in souls and how much more He could do in and through us in every moment of our lives if we let Him. This Get-Together has allowed many of the girls and young women to discover new aspects of the Christian life and draw closer to the Lord. At the end, some of the girls from the school in Playa Prieta shared how helping the other girls had been “the best thing that they had done in their life.”

We can only thank the Lord and Our Blessed Mother for placing their trust in us so that we could help these girls and young women draw closer to Them.
