This year, we celebrated Holywins for the third consecutive year in Macael on October 30, 2017, as an alternative for families who do not want to celebrate Halloween.
Many well-known saints showed up in Macael such as Saint Benedict and Saint Margaret Mary of Alocoque, but we also had some lesser known saints join us such as Saint Dymphna patron saint of mental health workers, and Saint Eduviges, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary's aunt.
Each saint told a little bit about their life while the others present had to try and guess who they were. In addition to the saints that we already named, St. Jose María Rubio, Saint Lucia, and three siblings from the 3rd century named Vincent, Sabina and Cristela were also present.
The saints showed signs of their generosity by bringing snack food to share with everyone else present at the party. We had a wonderful evening together and it was a great way to celebrate this feast day with semplicity, and it helped us to get know the saints a little bit better.
