The Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother in Torrente, Valencia, had our first get together for girls this year on November 4. Twenty girls participated, some of whom had participated in previous get-togethers, others were new.
We began the day at 11:00am welcoming the girls and singing songs with hand motions in order to wake everyone up.
Then, the morning's first activity was prayer in the chapel. The sister who led the prayer time spoke to the girls about holiness, because this was the theme of our get together, remembering the Feast of All Saints' we had celebrated on the first of November.
With our souls transformed, we had a confectionary workshop and made some delicious doughnuts.
After overcoming the temptation to eat them, we went to one of the largest classrooms in our house to participate in a game to win saint stickers that we used later in the craft.
After doing the craft, a beautiful bracelet with pictures of children saints, we had lunch at the Virgin Mary's humilladero (a little chapel-like structure made of stone containing a picture of Our Blessed Mother), which is behind the house.
After lunch, we played several games followed by a preparation in three teams to prepare a skit on the life of some of the children saints and act it out at the end of the get together. The children saints we chose were: Laura Vicuna, Guy Pierre de Fontgalland, and Antonietta Meo.
With this activity, we ended the get-together.
