Victory in the Streets of Madrid

Untitled 2

Rosary procession for young people in Madrid (Spain), September 15, 2018.

This summer, a group of Spanish youth felt that Our Blessed Mother was calling them to clearly manifest her motherly presence in Spain by going out into the streets to pray the Rosary. They set off in high spirits and with a fire inside that can only come from the Holy Spirit, and they overcame all the obstacles in their path to fulfill our Blessed Mother’s desire. They obtained the necessary authorization to carry out the Rosary "demonstration" (it was not permitted to be called a procession or any other name that could seem something religious) through downtown Madrid on Saturday night, when the streets are packed with all sorts of people.

Saturday, September 15 finally arrived and all the participants of the Rosary “manifestation” gathered at Conde de Miranda Square in downtown Madrid. The joyful atmosphere and numerous attendance of the youth ready to carry the Virgin Mary throughout the streets was surprising. The procession passed through the Main Square, Callao Square, the Gran Via and Spain Square, some of the most popular and known areas in the city. As we advanced, more people joined the procession. By the end there were about 500 of us, the majority being young people. The people's reaction when they saw the procession go by varied. There were a lot of people who were moved when they saw the Virgin Mary go by and so many youth praying. You could see some praying the words of the Hail Mary with us, words well-known for many, yet forgotten in a country that is letting itself be robbed of its greatest treasure: the Faith.

The brave youth who led the Rosary prayed for Spain, the youth, an increase of faith in Spain, conversion of its politicians, the end of abortion, etc. This Rosary was a ray of light and hope in the midst of a world where it seems that darkness is winning. Whenever Our Blessed Mother goes out into the streets she triumphs in the hearts of her children who see her and, with sincerity, ask her to show them that she is their Mother.
