The lay members of the Home of the Mother in Lumezzane, Italy, have consolidated an October (month dedicated to the missions) tradition. They organize a Missionary Dinner at St. Apollonio Parish to raise money for Missionary Groups of the Home of the Mother.

This initiative began ten years ago, when the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother opened their community at St. Apollonio. Our Blessed Mother poured out blessings upon the hearts of several people, and the Home of the Mother Youth group, as well as that of the Lay Members, began to emerge. It is thanks to H.M. members and friends that every year, parishioners from St. Apollonio and other parishes in Lumezzane show their generosity through this missionary initiative. On Saturday, October 20, 2018 nearly 250 people attended. The lay members and friends of the Home of the Mother started working around 2 p.m. They set the tables, prepared the kitchen, put up posters, and set up a shop to buy gifts and religious objects. Later the youth, in charge of serving dinner, arrived. At 8:30 p.m. Fr. Francesco said grace to begin dinner.

While we ate dinner, we showed the video of the first missionary trip for Italian girls to Ecuador. We also showed pictures of Maria Elisabetta Farm (which provides food for the soup kitchens and food baskets for sponsored families in Chone), along with pictures of other projects and apostolic work that the Missionary Groups of the Home of the Mother do.

Thanks to all the benefactors who made this Missionary Dinner possible. We especially thank those who, placing themselves at Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother's service, contributed to this missionary apostolate with their work. May the Lord repay them generously for their dedication.
