In recent months, we have put cement floor in the cow shed of Maria Elisabetta Farm, a farm that MGHM has in Chone in Manabí, Ecuador. It supplies the necessary food for the monthly shares delivered to families sponsored by MGHM. The rest of the production is sold in order to cover the workers' wages and the farm's expenses.
The cement floor is a great help to avoid the cows from getting sick during the rainy season. The high level of mud has harmful effects on their hooves and legs. It also facilitates the cleaning and hygiene of the cow shed.
We have also built a place to vaccinate animals quickly, comfortably and adequately.
We have begun catechesis and formation talks once a month with the families on the farm and other workers.
Maria Elisabetta Farm is sustaining three families with a house, electricity, water and salary and is giving work to four temporary workers.
Thanks to all who help us to make this work possible!
