This is a short skit which is performed various times, in different ways. We performed the skit normally, opera style, happily and very slowly. Makes for a very funny skit which also teaches a story about Mother Teresa. Depending on the creativity of the actors, other styles can easily be thought of!
Ambulance (2 girls)
Director: We are making a movie of Mother Teresa of Calcutta and we are having difficulty with this scene.
Mother Teresa: My daughters, can you three go to the soup kitchen to help serve lunch?
Sister #1: Yes, Mother right away.
Sister #2: Oh, I am so excited; I love all the little children.
Sister #3: Goodbye Mother, pray that we are safe.
Mother Teresa: Okay, my daughters, go with our Lady.
(the sisters are walking down the street when all the sudden…)
Man #1: Now you will die!
Man #2: No, please, have mercy on me!
(Man #1 shoots Man #2 and runs as man #2 falls to the ground wounded in his shoulder)
Man #2: Help me, Help me.
Sister #1: Look Sisters! We must help this man.
Sister #2: I will call for help! (Shouting) HELP! HELP! Please someone call the hospital!
Sister #3: (to Man #2) Sir, you will be alright, help is on the way.
Man #2: I’m dying, Sisters pray for me. (He dies)
(“The Ambulance” comes *it can be two girls holding on to opposite ends of two broomsticks as if they had a stretcher, making the ambulance sound*)
The Ambulance: We are here! We are here!
All the Sisters together: You are too late. May his soul rest in peace.
Director: No, that’s not right. Try again but make it slower.
(The actors try again but dramatically slower)
Director: No, no, that’s not how it should be done, do it again, do it again but happy!
(The actors do it again in a very happy way, laughing and smiling)
Director: (turns to the audience) No, no. It’s still not right. What can we do? How about opera?
(The actors do it again singing opera)
Director: That’s it! Perfect! Great job team!
