1A community of Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother will travel to Ireland to open our first house there on April 16, 2017.

A community of Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother will travel to Ireland to open our first house there on April 16, 2017, the anniversary of the large Earthquake that hit Ecuador last April, causing the death of Sr. Clare Crockett and five young girls of our community. Our Lord is permitting us to finally fulfill a desire we have long had to open a community in Ireland, a desire which was very dear to Sr. Clare’s own heart. She had longed to see a community of Servant Sisters in her own country.  We are filled with joy to see God’s providence and Our Lady’s hand which are very present. The date the Sisters fly to Ireland is no chance, but thanks to Our Heavenly Mother who is guiding everything from above.

2There will be four Sisters in the new community: Sr. Ruth María O'Callaghan (Dublin, Ireland); Sister Bernadette Clair (Cork, Ireland); Sister Michelle Klobe, Minnesota (USA); and Sister Karen Dittus, Florida (USA). The community will be located in diocese of Elphin, at the invitation of Bishop Kevin Doran.

After flying into Ireland on April 16th, the four Sisters will head the following day towards Derry, Sr. Clare’s hometown, to be present at the Anniversary Mass of her death at Long Tower Church at 7:30 pm. They will also pray the rosary at Sr. Clare’s tomb there in Derry before the Mass.

The official opening Mass of the new community will be on May 13th at 7:00 pm in Sacred Heart Parish in Roscommon.
